Biography




EARLY LIFE


In 1936, she was born in Whakatane, as oldest 5 siblings. Her father's job was bridge builder and she was often listened his adventure stories, which influenced her writing after her career. Her mother 's job was a teacher. Her first story was called "Harry is Bad" when she was 7 years-old.




Later Life


Her novels called " Three-Legged cat" translated into five languages which is for celebration of fifty diplomacy between New Zealand and Switzerland . it was translated in French, German, Italian and Romansch - as well as into Maori. It's said good way to celebrate New Zealand connection and honoring Mahy.


Important jobs

More than 120 books was written by her, translated into 15 languages, for child and that stories are wide range of topics , however usually across with ordinary world.
